Wordless Wednesday - Tomorrow's Preparations

Each afternoon once the kids have left, I sharpen pencils, place them in each table's center bins, place math and reading homework on each desk, and fix our calendar.

What do you do to prepare for tomorrow?

Comment below and then head over to Miss Decarbo's blog, Sugar and Spice, to link up with other teachers!

  1. I straighten up desks, put out their Quick Writes and Grammar Goofs and Spelling Spoofs for morning work, and make sure pencils are sharpened.

    1. I also have that sort of thing. I have 5 plastic magazine organizers labeled Monday-Friday. I keep all homework assignments and copies for the day there. I lay them out on the desks before I leave.

  3. I always have this fear that I will wake up ill, so I leave my materials for the next day and plan book out. One thing that must get done is to clean up my desk and teaching areas where clutter accumulates before I leave. My students take care of organizing the rest during clean up time but second graders can do this much better than my firsties could! :)

    1. I started having my firsties do the same thing in the last month or so! They LOVE helping. They erase our calendar, stack chairs, pass out the next day's homework, collect pencils, pick up any crayons or paper on the floor...its a wonderful blessing to have 18 little helpers!

  4. I always tidy up my desk, write the morning jobs on the board, write my morning message, and write the next day's reading and math objectives on the board.

  5. I do the same thing! I change the schedule, prepare pencils, make sure EVERYTHING is organized for the next morning. If it isn't, I'll have a panic attack when I wake up. I get nervous that something could happen to me on the way to school since I live too far away, plus, I could wake up and need to call out due to an emergency. I make sure the book is visible because it has ALL the instructions and list for the sub. :)

  6. Good for you on sharpening pencils...I am horrible at that but that reminds me I need to do that tomorrow morning haha! I get our morning message ready, shape of the day/day up, morning work ready on their desks and any marking needed by the next day!

    1. Proud of you for marking that afternoon! I always end up taking it home and grading it while I'm in my masters. LOL

  7. You are so organized! I homeschool one of my children, so it is a little easier than when I was in the classroom. I revise lesson plans and make sure that all of my son's folders are organized with the work for the next day. :-) Lauren

  8. I set up our visual timetable, fix up the calendar, check that the lessons focus statements are correct for the next day, pull out any materials I will need, do a quick tidy of any mess I have left around the room and make sure all worksheets are ready to go. I love knowing that I can come to school with most things ready for the new day!
